Doxycycline - Possible side effects

Doxycycline is well tolerated by most patients with such side effects as mild nausea, vomiting, trouble swallowing, stomach upset, diarrhea, vaginal itching, and swelling in your rectal or genital area reported most often. More serious side effects that you will have to report to your health care provider include but are not limited to: severe blistering, fever, chills, easy bruising or bleeding, urinating less than usual, body aches, dizziness, severe headache, blurred vision, dark colored urine, confusion, weakness, red skin rash, severe pain in your upper stomach, loss of appetite, and yellowing of the skin or eyes. Doxycycline can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. This side effect is especially dangerous if you have to stay outside for a long time in sunny weather, as there is a higher risk of getting sunburned. In general, there are other side effects possible, but they can be different for every person and need to be analyzed individually. If any of the mild side effects you originally developed appear to be bothersome or change in intensity – make sure you report them to your doctor as soon as possible.
